The big one!

Martinborough fair

One of the largest open markets in the southern hemisphere, the Martinborough Fair is held twice yearly on the first Saturday of February and March. Taking place in the picturesque village of Martinborough in the South Wairarapa, each fair features over 500 stalls selling high-quality New Zealand-made crafts, clothing, and food, and regularly attracts crowds of 25,000 or more.

South Wairarapa Rotary has been organising – and distributing the funds from – the Martinborough Fair since 1977. All of the profits from the fair are distributed back to the community in the form of grants, bursaries and youth and community projects.

We’re always in need of additional volunteers to help at the Martinborough Fair. Please contact us to join our volunteers list.

Martinborough charity fun ride

A fun ride for both serious and social cyclists starting in Martinborough and passing through the stunning surrounding countryside. Scheduled for early November annually, the ride is a popular precursor event to the Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge.

Organised by South Wairarapa Rotary in collaboration with Athletics and Cycling Masterton (ACM), and sponsored by Ride Holidays (Cycle Tours and Holidays), all profits from this iconic annual event are donated to charity.
