SOUTH WAIRARAPA ROTARY
WHO ARE WE?
You probably know us best as those orange vests at the Martinborough Fair, but – though we’re incredibly proud of owning and running the fair – that’s only a fraction of what we get up to every year. We’re a team of locals focussed on creating real lasting change in our community, whether through our support for youth development programmes, the provision of funds for local community and environment projects, or tackling the challenges of food insecurity.
Want to grow your capabilities as a leader? Our club offers multiple opportunities to lead and be mentored. Rotary is also about weaving yourself into the fabric of South Wairarapa life. If you’re looking for deeper connections, meaningful service, and plenty of friendship and laughter along the way, we’d love you to check us out.
If you feel we may be the right club for you, we would be delighted to have you join us for a meeting or two before you decide to join the South Wairarapa Rotary family!

Gatherings with purpose
Today we’re a lot more flexible than the service clubs of old, with members opting in or out of meals and meetings according to the time they have available.
On the third Wednesday evening of most months, we come together as work teams to share a meal, plan projects, and celebrate progress. Members arrive between 6.00 and 6.30pm, share a meal at 6.30pm, and expect to leave before 9.30pm.
Other Wednesday evenings (currently up to three every month) usually offer guest speakers or a fun social event. These meetings are optional and you can join in when it suits you. Just let us know if you’re not able to make it.
Twice a year, we put on our comfy shoes and roll up our sleeves for the Martinborough Fairs. Held on the first Saturdays of each February and March, these legendary events are the highlight of our fundraising calendar and a true team effort, with every hand needed to make it happen. The sense of achievement at the end of the day is unforgettable!

If you don’t have time for meetings, but could work as a volunteer at the Martinborough Fair, we’d still love to hear from you!
